Vahid Golestan: Holding Online Filmmaking Festival Won’t Deform the Originality of It / New Mentoring Features in Online Methods / Using Cameras to Think, a Stunning Opportunity for Young Adults

A member of the content planning council said, “Holding the Youth Filmmaking Festival does not deform its originality. Young adults’ online presence in these festivals plays an important role in helping this process, grow.”

The 33rd ICFF PUBLIC Relations Office reports, Vahid Golestan, director and a member of the content planning council of the International kids and young adult’s festival said, “To hold these festivals online, is not an option but a compulsion. We must consider that Olympiads are essential, an opportunity for young adults to be discovered, and all-around development of their various abilities.”

He said, “In fact, Writing ideas for a young adult or making a movie before he/she can introduce them as high powered director, It be a natural part of young adult growth, to overcome their fears, to express the parts which have never been expressed, to discover their talents and to show them, to be able to try more wisely for a  better future, for both themselves and their country.”

The filmmaker and educational expert said, “The most important part of it, is the idea and the script. I think those young adults who were present in the Olympiads, had a better opportunity to show themselves and the quantitative and qualitative statistics from last year’s reports, prove this.”

Golestan said, “Another interesting feature in the 3rd Youth Filmmaking Festival, was mentoring, which is a very dynamic, attractive and up to date method.”

He continued, “Of course, there are restrictions for holding the complete monitoring method which was used last year. There are limitations, since this year, this part is going to be held virtually.”

He continued, “In the first step, many can come in and test themselves with a simple task and see if this relative interest they have in filmmaking is accompanied by an inner ability or is not that serious.”

He said, “An important event has been happening since last year, and that’s because of some friends’ great directorship, and it needs to be developed. At the same time, it seems that Olympiads are naturally growing over time and that is a satisfying fact.”

“Last year, the word “effort” led to creating the term “life experience” among us and the kids, to let them know the richest thing they will ever get the chance to talk about, and that’s their first-hand experience. To think with a camera is a stunning opportunity.”, said Golestan.

He continued, “Undoubtedly, corona’s impact in terms, like form and belief will be effective. Therefore, it’s good that our young adults learn how to fake these problems in a short time and to get ready to face tomorrow’s happenings.”

He added in the end, “Lastly, we must say that this Olympiad is looking forward to helping young adults so that those with natural aptitude and energy would get closer to the art of movie and cinema, to be able to declare themselves and through the Olympiads, newer and deeper learning would be found in them, towards cinema.”

It would be a great thing for them to find motives at this age and to test themselves. They might even realize that they’re interested in and capable of doing something else.

To find their interest and potency as soon as possible is valuable and to attain a better understanding of their future, so that they would try for a better future and community.

Due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus and based on the multimedia agreement made by the Iranian Cinema Organization, Farabi Cinematic Foundation, and Isfahan Municipality, this edition of the festival will be held virtually from October 18 to 23, 2020 under the supervision of Alireza Tabesh.
