The Number of Ideas and Films Submitted to the 4th Youth Filmmaking Olympiad of Iran Announced

The number of ideas and films received by the 4th Youth Filmmaking Olympiad of Iran, sorted by province as well as female/ male participation level, was announced.

According to the secretariat of the Olympiad, in the Idea Section, 56 % of works belong to female young adults and 44 % belong to male young adults; in the Film Section, works by female young directors comprise 43 % and works by male young directors comprise 53 % of the total number, reports the 33rd ICFF Public Relations Office.

With 13 % of the participants being from Tehran and 87 % from other provinces, in the Idea Section, the number of submitted works sorted by province is as follows: Khorasan Razavi, 120 works; Isfahan, 62; Hamedan, 36; Tehran, 25; Khouzestan, 27; Ardabil and Yazd, 19 works each; East Azerbaijan, 18; Alborz, 15; Hormozgan, 11; Fars, 9; Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Gilan, Mazandaran and Kordestan, 8 works each; Semnan, 7; Kerman, Qom and North Khorasan, 5 works each; Markazi, 3; West Azerbaijan, Boushehr and Lorestan, 2 works each; and Qazvin and Golestan, 1 work each.

In the Film section, the number of submitted works sorted by province is as follows: Khorasan Razavi, 94; Tehran, 56; Isfahan, 42; Alborz, 23; Fars, 22; Mazandaran and Kerman, 16 works each; East Azerbaijan, 15; Hamedan, 12; Boushehr, Gilan and Khouzestan, 11 works each; Yazd and Kordestan, 10 works each; Hormozgan, 9; Ardabil, 8; Qazvin, 7; Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, 5; Qom, Lorestan and West Azerbaijan, 3 works each; Zanjan, Golestan, Markazi and Semnan, 2 works each; North Khorasan, Sistan and Balouchestan, Kermanshah and Kohgiluye and Boyer-Ahmad, 1 work each.

The 4th Youth Filmmaking Olympiad of Iran will be held virtually along with the 33rd International Film Festival for Children and Youth.

Due to the outbreak of the new Corona Virus, based on the multilateral agreement made by the Iranian Cinema Organization, Farabi Cinematic Foundation and Isfahan Municipality, this edition of the festival will be held virtually from October 18 to 23, 2020 under the supervision of Alireza Tabesh.

The Festival will be organized in a competitive format in two different sections; Iranian Cinema Competition and International Cinema Competition.
